Miami from one of the lookouts on Rickenbacker Causeway on the way to Key Biscayne. I love the trees with their many loose roots in the area and wanted to capture a low angle view of the crystal clear water, some interesting tree roots suspended in mid-air, and the beautiful Miami skyline in the background. This was taken shortly after sunset before nightfall, one of my favorite times to shoot cityscapes. The light of the city combined with the deep bluish twilight, plus some heavy cloud cover in the distance, made for an interesting almost purple looking sky which is the inspiration for the title of this photo.
